===== Church Garden project in Amsterdam ======

Foamlab and the Jeruzalemkerk have started an edible [[permaculture]] urban [[http://maps.google.nl/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=nl&geocode=&q=jan+maijenstraat+4,+amsterdam&sll=52.371112,4.851955&sspn=0.003531,0.009388&ie=UTF8&ll=52.371944,4.853168&spn=0.007061,0.018775&z=16&iwloc=A&layer=c&cbll=52.371323,4.852465&panoid=AP1eMsp48ITmcMQm4uHeNg&cbp=12,287.0715702225086,,0,-7.754285714285716|garden]] in Amsterdam-West.

Since the grounds are poor in nutrients we have decided to enliven it not with animal or chemical manure, but by using plants that can do this. This green manure is a mixture of many native plants. We found a great mixture here: [[http://www.medigran.nl/mengsels.php?id=108|seeds]]

We are also planning to put in (native) fruits for the church community, neighbours and local wildlife to enjoy. More on this follows..

On Satuday 11 April we have started by sowing the seed mixture. We used about 50% more of the mixture than was advised, because you don't really see many seeds on the soil when your actually sowing. So let's see what happens..\\

On Tuesday 14 April the first minuscule sprouts have appeared!

Sticking to a slow tempo is not easy, due to enthusiasm we've decided to already plant some small fruits this year. I've bought some Gooseberry, Blackcurrant and Raspberry. Jaques is looking for grapes.

===== Heilige Bonen =====

This is an event in the Junikunstmaand (June 27th) to be held at the church about new roles for plants in urban lives and on urban tongues (of many species hopefully).

We have invited: [[http://www.annetbult.nl/|Annet Bult]] / [[http://www.urbanibalism.org/|Wietske Maas]] / [[http://www.dg-c.org/|Christina Della Guistina]] to think about participating in this event. And there will also be a seed-balling workshop in with the help of Samma Mutsaers.
